My Journey in Architecting Collaboration

Welcome!

I'm Paul Nunesdea, the English pen name of Paulo Nunes de Abreu—an IAF Certified™ Professional Facilitator, collaboration architect, and digital health strategist.

Through facilitation, consulting, and thought leadership, I help create transformative spaces where ideas turn into impact.

My Journey in Collaboration & Digital Health

I design and facilitate spaces of dialogue that move people—and ideas—forward. From boardrooms to hospital auditoriums to international summits, my focus is on creating conversations that matter today and shape the decisions of tomorrow.

As a certified professional facilitator and curator of Architecting Collaboration, I bring together experts in collaborative leadership, meeting design, and health data strategy. Together, we navigate complexity, align around shared purpose, and chart pathways toward sustainable and impactful change.

My approach was shaped during my doctoral research at Lancaster University, where I earned a PhD in Management Science. There, I discovered Soft Systems Methodology (SSM)—a powerful framework for navigating complexity, which continues to inform how I help clients reflect, reframe, and move forward with clarity.

Today, I work closely with clients across sectors to:

  • Design high-stakes meetings and leadership retreats

  • Facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogue in healthcare and policy

  • Support ethical AI adoption through expert consulting

If you'd like to explore the broader ecosystem of companies and initiatives I'm involved with—including col.lab, Debate Exímio, and the Health Data Forum—click here to learn more.

But if you're here because you're ready to host a better meeting, lead a smarter transformation, or find the right expert for your next project, you're in the right place.

Welcome. Let's begin.

Reignite: Transformative Retreats

Unlock clarity, overcome obstacles, and spark collaboration—while redesigning your path, connecting with peers who share your journey, and returning with actionable insights to shape your next chapter with purpose and confidence.

My Other Roles

Health Blogger & Editor
Since 2005, I have been a health blogger and editor of Data First, AI Later, and Fórum Hospital do Futuro. Through these platforms, I share insights on healthcare innovation, digital transformation, and ethical AI governance. I contribute to shaping discussions that drive meaningful change in the global health ecosystem.

Author of the Architecting Collaboration Book Series

I am also the author and editor of the Architecting Collaboration book series, a collection dedicated to facilitation, meeting design, and collaborative decision-making. These books serve as a practical guide for facilitators, leaders, and organizations looking to enhance engagement, collaboration, and strategic conversations in both physical and digital environments.

But beyond my professional life, I take great pride in my role as husband and a father of four amazing children, now adults. Watching them grow into their paths has reinforced my belief in mentorship, learning, and creating environments where people thrive

Whether in family, business, or community, I see collaboration as a fundamental pillar of success, and this perspective shapes everything I do.
